Oh, Say Can You See

Oh, Say Can you See is a photo book comprised of images that are returned from code generated Google searches. The code takes a body of text, in this case the Star Spangled Banner, and performs an image search for each word individually. The first result is downloaded and added to the book; in the order of the text, one per page, in relative scale and with no mention of the word searched. The decontextulization of the inputs blind the algorithm. Its limits are revealed when the outputs are pieced back together, with the theme of the text nowhere to be found.
